The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy held its 10th annual Shimmer on the River fundraiser on Sept. 12 at the recently-opened Cobo Center ballroom in downtown Detroit. More than 650 guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, beverages, and a presentation that honored the contributions of Marlene and John Boll.

Henry Ford Health System held a Pit Party at an event called Get Your Heart Racing on Sept. 13 at Detroit's Eastern Market, as part of a two-day fundraiser for the Edith and Benson Ford Heart and Vascular Institute. On Sept. 14, ticket-holders took part in a driving event at Ford Motor Co.'s test track in Dearborn.

The third annual Wine & Dine in the D was held on Sept. 19 at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit. The event, which drew more than 800 guests, raised funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

The Professional Group, a multi-faceted property services firm, held a grand opening celebration on Oct. 23 at the Chrysler House in downtown Detroit. The company, part of Belfor Holdings Inc., relocated from Southfield.

Lem Barney, David Dombrowski, and Thomas F. McNulty were inducted into the CATCH Hall of Fame on Oct. 16 at The Henry. CATCH, founded by Sparky Anderson, is a charity for pediatric patients.

McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation's BRAvo Breast Cancer Fundraiser event was held Oct. 15 at Pennas in Sterling Heights. A portion of the proceeds will support the BRAvo for Women free mammogram program for uninsured women in Macomb County.

The annual Taste of Southfield was held Oct. 8 at the Town Center Atrium. Speakers at the fundraising event included Mayor Brenda Lawrence and DeAndre Lipscomb.

Beyond Basics & Detroit Bike City hosted its Slow Roll for Literacy Sept. 23 to help spread awareness about illiteracy.

Yatooma's Foundation for the Kids held its 10th Annual Champions Golf Outing on Sept. 16 Orchard Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake Village.

DBusiness hosted its annual Big Heat on Sept. 9 at Tre Monti Ristorante in Troy. More than 200 guests fine cigars, gourmet cuisine, and beverages. Sponsors included: Orley Shabahang, Budd, Melone & Co., Corporate Eagle, and Franco Public Relations Group.
