The Detroit Lions hosted the second annual Taste of the Lions on May 20. The event, which featured a meet and greet with players, coaches, and alumni, benefited Eastern Market and its community outreach programming.

On Nov. 22, The Detroit Parade Co. held its annual Hob Nobble Gobble fundraiser at Ford Field in Detroit. The event, which drew 2,000 people, included a gourmet buffet, cocktails, entertainment, and carnival rides.

More than 800 people attended Detroit Aglow at the MGM Grand Detroit on Nov. 25. A fundraiser for the Downtown Detroit Partnership, the evening included a cocktail reception followed by a sitdown dinner of caved turkey with all of the trimmings.

Rugiero Casino Royale, a major fundraiser for the University of Michigan Brehm Center via the Antonio Rugiero Diabetes Fund, was held on Nov. 1 at the Italian American Club in Livonia. The event drew more than 500 guests.

The 32nd annual Detroit International Wine Auction was held Oct. 19 at Cadillac Square. The event raised funds for student scholarships at the College for Creative Studies as well as free art programs for youth in Detroit.

The Big Wine Classic was held Aug. 26 at the Birmingham Country Club. Proceeds went toward the Robert A. Schuele Fund, which provides four-year college scholarships to deserving students.

More than 800 guests attended Saks Blast on Aug. 23 at Saks Fifth Avenue at the Somerset Collection in Troy. The event, which raised nearly $1.2 million, benefited the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and Transition to Betterness.

The Founders Junior Council hosted Fash Bash on Aug. 15, both on the front steps and inside the Great Hall at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The sold-out event, which included a Neiman Marcus runway show, benefited the DIA's new endowment campaign.

Peter and Danialle Karmanos were honored for their generosity and longtime support of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute on Oct. 5 at the Filmore in Detroit. The partners raised more than $800,000 for cancer research.

The Skyline Club celebrated its 25th anniversary with a black tie charity event on Sept. 28 in Southfield. Proceeds benefitted the Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, MDA “Augie’s Quest,” and the Employee Partners Care Foundation.
