The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute hosted its 25th Annual Partners Event on Friday, Sept. 21 at the Michigan Building Theatre in Detroit. More than 350 guests enjoyed a carnival-themed evening that included a strolling cocktail reception and dinner, silent auction, raffle, and live entertainment.

Detroit’s College for Creative Studies hosted The Art of Wine, its 37th Detroit International Wine Auction on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Beacon Park in Detroit. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner and live auction. Last year’s event raised $3.6 million. Proceeds support scholarships for undergraduate students at CCS and free art programs for almost 3,000 Detroit youth annually.

On Aug. 27, the 10th annual Big Wine Classic was held at the Birmingham Country Club. The annual golf, wine, and food event endows the Robert A. Schuele Scholarship Fund, which provides a full-ride, four-year scholarship to a Michigan-based university.

The Garden Party Foundation hosted its 10th annual Garden Party on Sunday, June 10 at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills. The event raised money for vocational programs at Oakland Community College and featured food and wine from nearly 30 Michigan restaurants along with a display of classic cars and live entertainment.

On May 22, around 70 people attended the Sunset at the Zoo Benefactor Bash at a private residence in Wayne County. The event, which included a cocktail reception and a strolling dinner, served as a prelude to Sunset at the Zoo, a strolling festival of food, beverages, music, and a live auction held on June 8 at the Detroit Zoo.

In the lead up to the 2018 North American International Auto Show, The Gallery, a display of luxury vehicles, was held on Jan. 13 at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit. The event, attended by more than 400 people, included a strolling cocktail party, cuisine prepared by Chef Wolfgang Puck, live entertainment, and a display of rare and luxury vehicles.

The Karmanos Cancer Institute hosted its 24th annual Partners Night on Oct. 28 at the M-1 Concourse in Pontiac. More than 300 guests enjoyed fine dining, thrill rides on the race track, live music, dancing, and an auction that raise nearly $500,000 for cancer research.

The College for Creative Studies hosted The 36th annual Detroit International Wine Auction on Oct. 21 at the Downtown Boxing Gym in Detroit. The black-tie event featured vintner Bodegas Torres, a silent auction and reception, a gala dinner and a live auction, and an after party. The evening raised $2.5 million for College for Creative Studies student scholarships and $1 million for the CCS Fashion Accessories Design Program.

The Hob Nobble Gobble presented by Ford Motor Co. was hosted at Ford Field in Detroit on Nov. 17. Guests enjoyed carnival rides and games, live music, and a preview of floats for America's Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van.

The Downtown Detroit Partnership, a nonprofit organization that works with businesses, institutions, and stakeholders to improve the vitality of the central business district, held its 34th annual Detroit Aglow fundraiser on Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand Detroit. More than 800 people enjoyed a cocktail reception, a brief program, and a turkey dinner with all of the fixings.
