The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund hosted their 12th annual fundraiser at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial on Saturday, April 29. Guests enjoyed strolling cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a live auction, and guest speaker Evan Robinson, a special forces operator from the 5th special forces group "The Legion."
More than 250 people attended the National Black MBA Association's Black Tie Gala on June 17 at MGM Grand Detroit. The event, which was held in the hotel's Grand Ballroom, centered around "40 Years of Legacy and Leadership" and raised over $40,000 in educational scholarships for metro Detroit business students.
The Women's Association for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan held a luncheon on May 5 at the Bloomfield Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. The event honored Elise Fisher Hayes, the recipient of the 2016 Matilda R. Wilson award.

Following the panel discussion, guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and tours of QStride’s offices.
The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute held its 22nd annual Partners Night fundraiser on Oct. 1 at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. The evening included a strolling cocktail reception, a raffle, live entertainment, mural-painting, and a fashion show.
Livonia-based American Society of Employers held its annual summit, which celebrates the role of the human resources profession in Michigan’s business and nonprofit communities, at the Detroit Athletic Club in downtown Detroit on Nov. 4. Guests enjoyed networking, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres.
The MGM Grand Detroit hosted the fourth annual Wright Gala on Oct. 11 in support of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and its educational programming. The black-tie event featured a Broadway theme with a cocktail reception, dinner, show, and a musical tribute to New York’s Studio 54.
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy hosted its 5th Annual Shimmer on the River in the Grand Ballroom at Cobo Center on Sept. 18. The event honored General Motors with the Shimmer Award, which recognizes outstanding philanthropic support of the conservancy.
