On Feb. 28, the nonprofit organization Write a House celebrated the first in a series of house parties at unique spaces across the city, such as this residence in Corktown. Write A House has given away three fully renovated homes in Detroit to writers and is now working on a long term rental model to keep housing affordable for residents in the literary arts.

The Downtown Detroit Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to beautifying the central city and providing enrichment programs, held its annual Detroit Aglow dinner on Nov. 21, 2016. More than 800 guests were treated to a turkey dinner and all the fixings.

Over 500 of Detroit's leading financial industry professionals gathered at Motor City Casino on November 18. The event featured Kevin O'Leary sharing his economic predictions for 2017, as well as live music and entertainment.

Judson Center’s annual A Night to Embrace Our Children and Families Gala was held on Oct. 8 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit. The theme of this year's event was Havana Nights, and it featured live music, salsa dancing and lessons, and an authentic Cuban coffee bar.

Law firm Foster Swift held an open house for its new Southfield office on Sept. 13. Proceeds from the event benefited the Alzheimer's Association, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and the Detroit Zoological Society.

Farmington Hills-based Kyyba Kidz Foundation and the Novi-based School of World Music and Dance hosted a Bollywood entertainment fundraiser on Sept.10 at Divine Providence Lithuanian Catholic Church in Southfield. The show, “Gehna-Aja Nachle,”featured lively music and dancing performed by local youth and adults.

The Southfield-based defense litigation firm Collins Einhorn Farrell held a party for its 45th anniversary at the Great Lakes Culinary Center in Southfield on April 16. About 160 guests enjoyed appetizers, dinner, and a full bar.

About 900 guests attended The Michigan Women's Foundation party celebrating its 30th anniversary at the MotorCity Casino Hotel on April 6. The evening included networking, dinner, and a silent auction.
