Disability Network Holiday Meet and Greet
The Disability Network Wayne County Detroit hosted its Holiday Meet and Greet on Friday, Nov. 30 at Sindbads Restaurant and Marina in Detroit. Guests enjoyed hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. The organization works to empower, educate, and advocate for individuals with disabilities.
29th Annual Fiesta Hispana Gala
More than 600 guests attended the 29th Annual Fiesta Hispana Gala, hosted by the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Friday, Dec. 7 at the MGM Grand Detroit. Networking, food and drinks, a silent auction, live music, and dancing were included.
Detroit Horse Power Inaugural Gala
Detroit Horse Power, an organization committed to teaching children skills for success by showing them how to care for horses on repurposed land in Detroit, hosted its Inaugural Gala on Nov. 9 at the Waterview Loft in Detroit. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a strolling dinner, a raffle, and a silent auction.
14th Annual Dennis W. Archer Public Service Award Gala
The Detroit Bar Association awarded Hon. Robert J. Colombo Jr., chief judge of the 3rd Judicial Circuit Court, with the 14th Annual Dennis W. Archer Public Service Award on Nov. 8 at the Detroit Yacht Club. The award honors an attorney or jurist who exemplifies the ideal of the law as public service. Proceeds fund free legal clinics and community outreach programs.
The Doll League Charity Fundraiser in Southfield
On Sunday, Nov. 4, The Doll League Inc. Detroit chapter hosted a masquerade ball at The Westin Southfield Detroit. The league is headquartered in New York and provides college scholarships to young women and grants to community organizations.
Small Steps, Big Strides for Parkinson’s Gala 2018 at the Henry Ford Museum
The Michigan Parkinson Foundation hosted its 2018 Small Steps, Big Strides gala on Friday, Oct. 19 at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn. Guests enjoyed access to the museum, cocktails, dinner, dancing, and a live auction. The foundation focuses on the educational and support needs of those with Parkinson’s.
14th Annual Polish the Jewel Luncheon
The Belle Isle Conservancy hosted its 14th annual Polish the Jewel legacy luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle. The event raised money for Belle Isle’s Beachfront Revitalization Project, which will add a splash park, picnic area, and parking to where the island’s waterslide once stood.
Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Fundraiser 2018
The AUSA Arsenal of Democracy Chapter, Women in Defense-Michigan, and NDIA Michigan hosted Celebrate Michigan’s Military on Saturday, Sept. 22 at DC3S in Sterling Heights. The event, which included a Passing of the Leash Ceremony, raised funds for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. The organization pairs Michigan veterans with individually trained medical service dogs.
30th Anniversary of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce
The Detroit chapter of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 30th anniversary of the organization on Friday, May 18 at Andiamo Ristorante in Bloomfield Township. Guests enjoyed dinner, drinks, entertainment, and a silent auction.
Eddie V’s One Year Anniversary Party
On June 19, Eddie V’s, an upscale seafood eatery and a sister company to The Capital Grille, held a one-year anniversary party. More than 120 guests enjoyed a wide selection of appetizers, cocktails, and a raffle for charity.
