Jack Entertainment, a Detroit-based gaming company, has announced the transition from Greektown Casino-Hotel to Jack Detroit Casino-Hotel will be completed by May 2018. Upon completion, the casino will offer new dining and entertainment experiences.

The Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan (ITS Michigan), a nonprofit organization that fosters advance technologies in surface transportation, has partnered with Nextenergy, a nonprofit for accelerating advanced energy, to host the ITS Michigan annual conference. This year’s conference, “Life on Planet M,” will be hosted on Sept. 27 in Detroit.

Auburn Hills-based Continental, an automotive manufacturing company, has developed a SmartAccess car feature which allows a user to access their vehicle with a personal smartphone. The new technology includes an independently working car door controlled by a digital key. 

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) will open two major painting exhibitions, “Monet: Framing for Life” and “Church: A Painter’s Pilgrimage,” next month.

Fiat has unveiled the Urban Edition, the newest addition to the Fiat 500X lineup, due to arrive in dealerships this fall with a starting price under $25,000.

Bingham Farms-based Core Partners and investment group Burton-Katzman has acquired four industrial properties in the Grand Rapids area for $12.8 million. The properties are in Kentwood, Caledonia, and Byron Center.
