On June 3, more than 1,000 people were guests of several dozen companies that hosted corporate chalets during the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Presented by Lear on Belle Isle. In addition to watching different racing series throughout the day, guests enjoyed cuisine prepared by Joe Viacari Restaurant Group, gifts, and networking.
More than 1,200 guests enjoyed the fourth annual Cars and Cigars event on Thursday, June 8 at the Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Sterling Heights. Sponsored by Smoke Detroit, the event featured cigars, a classic car show, and a live auction to benefit Cigar Family School in the Dominican Republic and several local charities.
The Chevrolet Grand Prix returned to Detroit from June 2-4 at The Raceway on Belle Isle's street circuit. The weekend featured Verizon IndyCar Series, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the high-flying trucks of the Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks, and the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli.
The 2016 North American International Auto Show held its press preview days on Jan. 11-12, offering a sneak peek of more than 750 vehicles displayed at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit. The show opens to the public Saturday and runs through Jan. 24.
Chrysler, Chevrolet, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Ford Motor Co., among other automakers, held press conferences on the first media preview day of the 2016 North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit on Jan. 11.
In partnership with The Celani Family Foundation and WJR 760-AM, Gleaners Community Food Bank, and Capuchin Soup Kitchen raised approximately $250,000 during Hunger Free in The D. Proceeds from the event, held Nov. 24 at Gleaners in Detroit, will help provide meals for metro Detroit’s hungry this holiday season.
