Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

PlanetM Launches $1M Grant Program to Support Mobility Startups

PlanetM, Michigan’s mobility-focused brand and business development program, Tuesday announced it has launched a grant program of more than $1 million to support mobility startups. The two-part program includes a PlanetM Pilot Grant and a PlanetM Testing Grant. Both were unveiled during the 2018 ITS America Annual Meeting that was held in Detroit.

Michigan Department of Transportation Tests Vehicle to Infrastructure Technology on SMART Bus

The Michigan Department of Transportation today announced that vehicle to infrastructure technology is being tested on a section of M-97, or Groesbeck Highway, in Macomb County. Six intersections of M-97 have been equipped with dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) devices that transmit information from the signal to inside a bus via an onboard unit to inform the driver of signal timing changes and potential red-light violations.

Ann Arbor’s U-M Launches Driverless Shuttle on North Campus

The Mcity Driverless Shuttle, a research project at Ann Arbor’s University of Michigan, launched today on the north campus. Mcity, which operates a 32-acre connected and automated vehicle test facility nearby, is studying how passengers react to the driverless shuttles to gauge consumer acceptance of the technology. The shuttles are equipped with onboard cameras and Wi-Fi communications to capture data generated during operation.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has selected INRIX for real-time traffic and mobility intelligence as part of a three-year agreement, INRIX announced Monday. INRIX is a Washington-based company specializing in connected car services and transportation analytics.
