The Subscription Trade Association (SUBTA) in Royal Oak was launched this week at the annual Subscription Summit in Austin, Texas. The organization will focus on the emerging subscription commerce industry that has been sparked by the growth of subscription box companies worldwide.

With more than 2,500 subscription box companies reported globally, SUBTA will help its members with networking, professional development, and customer service, as well as offering content to help members maintain profitable growth, conduct mission critical research, and develop a social conscious business model.

“Over the next decade, the subscription box industry is on track to generate more than $90 billion in annual revenue,” says Paul Chambers, a co-founder of SUBTA. “We believe forming SUBTA is a natural next step given the growth that is ongoing in subscription commerce as a whole.”

In addition to networking and professional development, SUBTA will encourage members to practice “conscious capitalism” and build a community of leaders throughout the industry.

The growth of subscription commerce was on display this week at the second annual Subscription Summit, with more than 450 entrepreneurs, box businesses, and the complete subscription commerce value chain attending the event.
