General Motors Co. today revealed the 2016 GMC Yukon SLT Premium Edition, a more luxurious version of the Yukon and Yukon XL models that feature special trim, fold flat second- and third-row seats that boost cargo capacity, and an advanced 5.3-liter V-8 engine. The special package will cost around $3,000, and will go on sale this summer.

Other features offered on the new Yukon and Yukon XL models include “Unique” design 22-inch chrome-wheels, a distinctive chrome grille, bright chrome body-side moldings, and a polished exhaust tip

The new lineup also incorporates technologies that help protect the driver and passengers before, during, and after a collision. The technology includes a forward radar system, and the segment’s only front center air bag, which deploys from the inboard side of the driver’s seat and inflates between the driver and front passenger to reduce potential injuries during side impact collisions.

“The new Yukon SLT Premium Edition adds distinction and personalized style to the already well-appointed Yukon SLT model,” says Stu Pierce, senior marketing manager of GMC Trucks & Full-size SUVs.

Other standard and available features for SLT models include a power rear liftgate with multiple programmable height settings and hands-free operation, wireless phone charging, a standard 8-inch-diagonal color touch-screen radio with enhanced IntelliLink and available navigation, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone projection compatibility.

Yukon and Yukon XL sales were up more than 11 percent for the first four months of 2016.
