The Celebrate Michigan’s Military Fundraiser at DC3S in Sterling Heights on Nov. 15, featured a strolling dinner, music, and exhibits. World War II veterans were recognized for service to their country and proceeds went to the Michigan Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund.

Punch Bowl Social — a bar and entertainment venue that spans two levels of a 24,000-square-foot space — provided a sneak peek event for media on Dec. 9. The gastro-diner, which also offers bowing, arcade games, and private karaoke, opens today in The Z building in downtown Detroit.

JARC, an organization serving people with disabilities, hosted its 34th annual fall fundraiser at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit on Nov. 11. The evening included a performance by street magician David Blaine, as well as a pre-glow strolling dinner and cocktail reception.

Friends and fans of William Pilchak — part of the Auburn Hills law firm, Pilchak & Cohen PC — gathered Nov. 11 at the Emagine Theater in Royal Oak to celebrate the release of his new novel, Nothing But the Truth. The author signed copies of the book, a procedural that focuses on the high price of truth in the legal system.

The Community House hosted its third annual Business Symposium, “How to Make More Money,” on Oct. 23 at its Birmingham location at 380 S. Bates St. Proceeds from the event benefited the organization's programs for at-risk youth and children in need in Oakland and Wayne counties.

Shinola hosted a private launch party at the Henry Ford Estate on Oct. 23. The event introduced The Henry Ford Limited Edition Pocket Watch, created to honor Henry Ford’s contribution to America’s history of innovation and industry, and included guest speakers Edsel B. Ford II, Jacques Panis of Shinola, and Christian Overland of The Henry Ford.

The Arthritis Foundation of Michigan presented its annual Tribute to Excellence Oct. 22 at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. The event honored the philanthropic endeavors of Roger Penske and the Penske Corp., while raising funds for programs, services, and research into the prevention, control, and cure of arthritis.

The MGM Grand Detroit hosted the fourth annual Wright Gala on Oct. 11 in support of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and its educational programming. The black-tie event featured a Broadway theme with a cocktail reception, dinner, show, and a musical tribute to New York’s Studio 54.

The Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan held its annual CRUSH Birmingham Wine and Food Classic on Sept. 27 at the Townsend Hotel. The featured vintner was Bacio Divino Cellars in Napa Valley, while culinary dishes were prepared by Cuisine, The Root, Torino, Forest Grill, and The Capital Grille, among others.

The Parade Company’s Distinguished Clown Corps held its Distinguished Grand Jester’s Reception on Sept. 23 at The Reserve at Big Rock Chophouse in Birmingham. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
