On Nov. 1, the Oakwood Hospital Wayne Medical Staff held the 2014 Wine for the Spirit fundraiser at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. The event, which drew more than 600 guests, included a strolling dinner, a silent auction, wine demonstrations, raffles, and a Fine Wine Tasting Room.

The North American International Auto Show kicked off its press preview on Jan. 12. Held at Cobo Center in Detroit, the first of two media days saw several announcements from automakers including General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co., and Nissan.

On Oct. 30, the Detroit Hispanic Development Corp., a nonprofit youth advocacy organization in southwest Detroit, held its annual Dream Makers' Gala. The event, which drew more than 500 people, was held at the historic Garden Theatre along Woodward Avenue in Detroit's Midtown District.

The Parade Co. in Detroit held its annual Hob Nobble Gobble at Ford Field on Nov. 21, as a prelude to America's Thanksgiving Parade. More than 2,200 guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, carnival rides, dancing, games, and performances by Fifty Amp Fuse, MKTO, and Vanilla Ice.

To raise awareness of its centennial anniversary in 2015, Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit has been hosting a series of fundraisers in recent years. On Nov. 5, it held the latest Circle of 1915 event inside the Grand Hall at the Detroit Institute of Arts, which was attended by more than 200 donors and their guests.

As part of the Detroit premiere of "Motown: The Musical," which was written by Berry Gordy, the Motown Historical Museum held a fundraiser Oct. 21 at The Roostertail in Detroit. The event was attended by more than 300 Motown alumni and guests.

Conway MacKenzie, a multi-faceted turnaround management firm in Birmingham, hosted a holiday party on Dec. 15 at Bacco Ristorante in Southfield. More than 200 guests attended the event, which included gourmet food stations, a live performance stage, and a cigar bar.

The College for Creative Studies in Detroit raised more than $2.4 million on Oct. 18 during its 33rd annual Detroit International Wine Auction. The event was held at General Motors Co.'s Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren. The auction chairs were Mary and Tony Barra.

Tom Celani, co-owner of Celani Family Vineyards and Luna Entertainment, and Joe Vicari, co-owner of Andiamo Restaurant Group, hosted their annual Christmas party earlier this month at Andiamo Bloomfield Township.

Strategic Staffing Solutions hosted its annual holiday party at the Detroit Athletic Club on Dec. 11. The global staffing firm has 30 branches worldwide.
