M-1 Concourse Groundbreaking

The M-1 Concourse in Pontiac broke ground on June 24 on the first 80 private car garages and the 1.5 mile performance track. Once complete, the mixed-use development will have about 250 private garages, restaurants, an auto-focused shopping village, office space, and exhibition areas for car shows and auctions.

18th Annual Archbishop's Gala

The Sacred Heart Major Seminary held its annual Archbishop's Gala to support future priests, deacons, and lay leaders in the Grand Ballroom at the Cobo Center on June 18. Guests enjoyed dinner and entertainment.

2015 CRAFT Detroit

CRAFT, a partnership between the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and Eastern Market, held an event on June 19 at Shed 3 in Detroit's Eastern Market to celebrate impacting the health of individuals and families through education on nutrition. Guests enjoyed artisanal cuisine, hand-crafted cocktails, art, and entertainment provided by local musicians.

2015 EyesOn Design

About 300 vehicles, along with recent concept and production vehicles, were on display at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores on June 21. Money raised at the event, which included a ticketed Private Eyes Brunch, supported Henry Ford Health System's Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology.

Detroit Economic Club's 2015 Young Leader Conference

The Detroit Economic Club held its Young Leader Conference: "Excellence in Motion" at the Cobo Center in Detroit on June 16. Speakers included Bill Ford Jr., executive chairman of Ford Motor Co.; John Fikany, vice president of Microsoft Corp.; and Rodrick Miller, CEO of the Detroit Economic Growth Corp. Attendees participated in breakout sessions, a lunch, and a cocktail reception.

7th Annual Garden Party

The Garden Party Foundation held its annual Garden Party at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills on June 14. The event featured fare from nearly 30 Michigan restaurants paired with the state's finest wines. Guests also enjoyed classic cars and live entertainment. Event proceeds raised money for Macomb Community College’s Applied Technologies Programs and Oakland Community College’s Culinary Studies Institute.

2nd Annual Under the North Star Event

The Ted and Jane Von Voigtlander Foundation held a fundraising event for North Star Reach, a camp in Pinckney for children with serious health issues and their families, on June 13 at Zingerman’s Cornman Farms in Dexter. Guests enjoyed drinks, dinner from Zingerman's Roadhouse, and an auction. Honorary "camp counselors" included Lloyd Carr, Mike Hart, Jake Long, Jordan Morgan, Mary Beth Powers, Mark Rosen, and Tony Scheffler, among others.

Third Annual Taste of the Lions

The Detroit Lions hosted their third annual Taste of the Lions event at Ford Field on May 12. The strolling food and wine event featured dishes from more than 20 metro Detroit restaurants and an opportunity to meet the 2015 Detroit Lions. Event proceeds benefitted Eastern Market and its community outreach programming.

A Panel Discussion with Sir Richard Branson

The Detroit Creative Corridor Center hosted Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, on June 12 at the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design Education at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit’s Midtown district. As part of the activities, Branson and others participated in a business pitch presentation.

5th Annual Get Your Heart Racing

A party was held at Eastern Market’s Shed 3 in Detroit on June 11 to support the Henry Ford Heart and Vascular Institute. Guests enjoyed live music by country star Toby Keith, food, drinks, and cars.
