The CFA Society of Detroit, an association of certified financial investors, held its annual golf outing at the Plum Hollow Golf Course​ in Southfield on Aug. 31. Guests enjoyed 18 holes of golf, dinner, and drinks.

The Detroit Young Professionals held its fifth annual Vanguard Awards dinner to honor the efforts of young professionals and entrepreneurs growing and excelling in their respective fields on Oct. 1 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner, an open bar, and live entertainment.

The marketing company TMV Group in Royal Oak held an art show featuring the works of artists Peter Coe, Sooney Kadouh, and Jeffrey Bowman on Oct. 1. Guests enjoyed drinks and live music.

The Spindler Project, a gallery in Detroit curated by Lisa Spindler, held a private cocktail reception for photographer Jessica Tingley’s body of work titled “Witness" on Sept. 24. Tingley displayed 21 large scale fine art images, benefitting her new foundation, The Witness Foundation.

The Palace of Auburn Hills held a media preview event on Oct. 1 to showcase the new dining additions to the arena's east entrance concourse, and progress on the updated seating project. The new dining options include Maplewood Barbecue, a rustic barbecue restaurant; Eastside Tacos, which serves street-style tacos; and The Linkery, featuring artisan sausages and rolls.

The Believe Foundation, a Mount Clemens-based nonprofit supporting cancer patients and recovery and homeless programs in metro Detroit, held a fundraising event at a Tigers game at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit on Sept. 26.

The Detroit Economic Club held its third annual chairman's dinner at Detroit's Eastern Market on July 29. Guests enjoyed cooking demonstrations, a seated dinner, a silent auction, a brief program, and entertainment.

On June 23, the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn held its Induction and Awards Gala Ceremony at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in Detroit. The awardees included Elwood Haynes (Haynes-Apperson Automobile Co.), Luca di Montezemolo (Ferrari S.p.A.), Roger Penske (Penske Corp.), Ratan N. Tata (Tata Motors), and Industry Leader of the Year Rodney O'Neal (Delphi).

Eastern Market Corp., along with 1xRun and Inner State Gallery, held a festival in Detroit's Eastern Market, inviting 45 artists to paint large-scale murals throughout the district from Sept. 17-25.

Wasserman Projects, an interdisciplinary space for art exhibitions and performances, opened Sept. 24 in Detroit's Eastern Market. The gallery, which features exposed brick and beams, is set in a 100-year-old firehouse. The gallery was previously located in Birmingham's Rail District.
