Second Annual Hunger Free In The D Live Broadcast and Reception

WJR-AM (760) and the Celani Family Foundation held a live broadcast of the Paul W. Smith Show in the Last Word Cigar Lounge at the Detroit Athletic Club in downtown Detroit on Nov. 23. The event was held as a part of Hunger Free In The D, a three-week matching gift campaign to support Forgotten Harvest, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and Gleaners Community Food Bank.

Hob Nobble Gobble 2015

More than 2,000 people attended Hob Nobble Gobble on Nov. 20 at Ford Field in downtown Detroit to benefit America’s Thanksgiving Parade. Guests enjoyed dinner and entertainment, along with carnival rides and games.

On Nov. 2, Aston Martin of Troy and Elder Automotive Group hosted more than 100 people for a private screening of “Spectre,” the new James Bond film, at the Emagine Theater in the Palladium Building in downtown Birmingham.

Detroit-based Shinola unveiled its newest watch created in partnership with the Muhammad Ali Center on Nov. 19 at the Downtown Youth Boxing Gym on Detroit's east side. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, drinks, a silent auction, and a boxing demonstration from the gym's students.

City Year Detroit Women's Leadership Breakfast 2015

The nonprofit City Year Detroit held a breakfast at the Detroit Athletic Club on Dec. 1 featuring networking, a panel discussion, and a speech by Danialle Karmanos, founder of Work It Out. City Year is an organization that partners with public schools to help keep students in school and on track to graduate.

Government officials and community members attended the grand opening of the new Chaldean Community Foundation Center in Sterling Heights on Nov. 13. Guests enjoyed lunch and tours of the 11,500-square-foot center that expects to assist more than 20,000 individuals annually.

Final Performance of 'The Passenger' at The Michigan Opera Theatre

Ford Motor Co., Waterford Township-based Contract Professionals Inc., and the Michigan Opera Theatre honored more than 100 Ford veterans including World War II veterans and former World War II prisoners of war at the Detroit Opera House during the final performance of "The Passenger" on Nov. 22. Mieczysław Weinberg’s "The Passenger" is a Holocaust-themed opera set during and after World War II.

11th Annual Kidney Ball

More than 800 people attended the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan's Kidney Ball on Dec. 5 at the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The black-tie event included a cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, dancing, and entertainment.
