On Nov. 5, the Detroit Institute of Arts hosted FJC Art Seen: 30 Americans. The evening event included a tour of the 30 Americans exhibit, which showcases contemporary art by African-American artists. The exhibit runs through Jan. 18.

The Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, Michigan Chapter, hosted a holiday reception on Dec. 9 at the Detroit Athletic Club. The festive event helped raise funds for the restoration of artwork at the Vatican.

Nearly 200 people attended Huron Capital Partners' holiday party on the rooftop of the Detroit Athletic Club on Nov. 30. Guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails and jazz music.

Henry Ford Health System held a centennial celebration at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit on Dec. 12. The black-tie event raised money for a new cancer center to be located across the street from Henry Ford Hospital.

More than 400 people attended Strategic Staffing Solutions holiday party at the Detroit Athletic Club on Dec. 17, which included a strolling dinner, cocktails, food stations, and live entertainment. Guests were asked to bring a children's book that will be donated to charities.

The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation held its annual fall fundraiser, the Dream Makers' Gala, at the Garden Theater in Detroit's Midtown District on Oct. 29. The event benefited DHDC's programs, which target residents of southwest Detroit.

WJR-AM (760) and the Celani Family Foundation held a live broadcast of the Paul W. Smith Show in the Last Word Cigar Lounge at the Detroit Athletic Club in downtown Detroit on Nov. 23. The event was held as a part of Hunger Free In The D, a three-week matching gift campaign to support Forgotten Harvest, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and Gleaners Community Food Bank.

More than 2,000 people attended Hob Nobble Gobble on Nov. 20 at Ford Field in downtown Detroit to benefit America’s Thanksgiving Parade. Guests enjoyed dinner and entertainment, along with carnival rides and games.

On Nov. 2, Aston Martin of Troy and Elder Automotive Group hosted more than 100 people for a private screening of “Spectre,” the new James Bond film, at the Emagine Theater in the Palladium Building in downtown Birmingham.

The Detroit Young Professionals held its holiday party at Our/Detroit Vodka in southwest Detroit on Dec. 10. Guests enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
