More than 150 people attended the Coalition on Temporary Shelter's 17th annual Soup City event on Jan. 21 at the Gem Theatre in downtown Detroit. The event featured soups from restaurants in the area, along with entertainment by the Jerry Ross Band and Les Williams.

More than $370,000 was raised on Nov. 14 at Wine for the Spirit, a benefit for the Oakwood Foundation that was held at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, rare wines, a biergarten, and entertainment by the Rick Lieder Band.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation hosted Wine & Dine in the D on Oct. 22 at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit. More than 20 restaurants and 15 wineries participated in the event.

More than 13,000 people attended the 2016 North American International Auto Show Charity Preview black-tie event at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit on Jan. 15. Huey Lewis and the News performed, and the event raised more than $5.2 million for children's charities.
