Detroit Tigers Opening Day 2016

The Detroit Tigers defeated the New York Yankees 4-0 on Opening Day. More than 45,000 people attended the game on April 8. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by 1984 World Series Champion Kirk Gibson.

JARC Center Grand Opening

The JARC Center for Autism and Rehabilitation Services held a grand opening for its new facility in Farmington Hills on March 31. The 3,500-square-foot facility focuses on providing applied behavioral analysis, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy services.

FJC Art Seen: American Dance

The Detroit Institute of Arts hosted Founder's Junior Council Art Seen: American Dance on March 24. The event featured tours of the exhibit, music by Nicole New, signature cocktails, and appetizers. The exhibit runs through June 12.

Ritchie discussed how to reach and exceed the 100-year mark amid fellow members of the magazine's Century Club (businesses 100 years or older).

13th Annual APACC East-West Business Connection

More than 350 guests attended the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce's East-West Business Connection event at the Troy Marriott on March 16. With a focus on opportunities for minority businesses, the event included a supplier exhibition, a "Meet the Buyer" Showcase, lunch, and a panel discussion.

12th Annual Nourishing the Soul Wine Tasting Event

The Solanus Casey Center held its 12th annual wine tasting event on March 19 at Petruzzello’s Banquet and Conference Center in Troy. This year's event featured a wine-tasting reception with appetizers, a sit-down dinner, and silent and live auctions.

DIA’s ‘Dance! American Art 1830–1960’ Exhibit Media Preview

The Detroit Institute of Arts held a media preview of its newest exhibit, "Dance! American Art 1830–1960," on March 16 ahead of the exhibit's opening on March 20. The exhibit includes more than 90 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and costumes, and runs through June 12.

Designer’s Night 2016

Camilo Pardo hosted Designer's Night on Jan. 11 at his studio inside the Bankle Building in Detroit's Midtown district. More than 300 guests were treated to a strolling dinner and live entertainment amid Pardo's art collection.

JVS’ 8th Annual Trade Secrets

Linda Schlesinger-Wagner, founder of the smoothwear company Skinnytees, gave the keynote address, sharing her story on how she created an $8 million fashion line.

The Gallery 2016

The Detroit Auto Dealers Association hosted The Gallery on Jan. 9 at MGM Grand Detroit. The event, which drew more than 500 people, featured luxury cars, a strolling dinner prepared by Chef Wolfgang Puck and his culinary team, live entertainment, and a silent auction.
