Macomb County Business Awards

The fifth annual Macomb County Business Awards was hosted by County Executive Mark Hackel and the The Macomb County Department of Planning and Urban Development on Feb. 14. The breakfast event was held at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township and honored local businesses for their work in diversification, efficiency, innovation, and workforce development.

DCBA Gala 2017

The Detroit Chinese Business Association hosted their annual Chinese New Year Gala at the Grand Riverview Ballroom at Detroit's Cobo Center on Feb. 11. Close to 500 guests rang in the Year of the Rooster and enjoyed an evening of networking, celebration, and live music.

Detroit’s Boxing Legends Grand Opening

Over 150 people gathered for the grand opening of an exhibit honoring Detroit's boxing legends, including Jonathan Banks, Leeonzer Barber, Tommy Hearns, and many others. The event was held at the Brown and Juanita C. Ford Art Gallery in Detroit and hosted by the Wayne County Community College District's School of Continuing Education. The exhibit is currently open through Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Detroit Secret Sessions 2017

Detroit Secret Sessions: Take One was held at the Jam Handy Film Studios in Detroit on February 7. The evening featured pianist Ivan Moshchuk playing solo piano works of Schubert, DiChiera, and Brahms, as well as an art installation by Lisa Spindler and a wine and cheese reception.

DBusiness Breakfast Series Featuring Eric Larson

Eric Larson, CEO of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, discussed the renaissance of downtown Detroit at the DBusiness Breakfast Series on Tuesday, February 7. Larson's presentation at the Gem Theater in Detroit focused on new office towers, residences, stores, and restaurants coming to the city, as well as the upcoming Little Caesars Arena.

King Tut Exhibit at the Cranbrook Institute of Science

The new exhibit, "Tutankhamun: Wonderful Things From The Pharaoh’s Tomb" debuted on Friday, Feb. 3 at the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills. Museum guests enjoyed viewing 131 replicas from the pharaoh's tomb in Giza, Egypt, including his state chariot, golden mummy case, thrones, jewelry, and a funerary mask. The exhibit runs through Sept. 3.

Main Event 20

The seventh annual Main Event 20 was held at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Midtown on January 8 as a celebration of design to ring in the North American International Auto Show. Students from Lawrence Technological University displayed their designs for the future of mobility, and over 600 guests enjoyed a strolling dinner, beverages, live entertainment, and a fashion show.

Bates Street Gala 2017

The third annual Bates Street Society Dinner was hosted by the organization's board of directors at The Community House in Birmingham. Guests at the black-tie-optional event enjoyed a three-course dinner, beverages, recognition of Bates Street Society members, and live entertainment.

Entrepreneurs’ Organization Annual Party

The Detroit chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organizaition, a global peer-to-peer network of more than 12,000 influential business owners, hosted their annual party at the Waterview Loft in Detroit on January 28. Guests enjoyed dinner, beverages, and dancing at the Detroit City Lights themed-event.

AFPD’s 101st Annual Trade Dinner

AFPD, a "voice for those in the food, beverage, and petroleum industries," hosted its annual Trade Dinner and Ball on Jan. 7 at Penna's of Sterling in Sterling Heights. More than 1,000 guests enjoyed dinner and beverages, as well as dancing, live musical entertainment, a photo booth, and casino-like games.
