Lights, Courage, Action 2017
The Michigan Women's Foundation hosted more than 850 people for their annual Lights, Courage, Action fundraiser at MotorCity Casino in Detroit on Monday, April 24. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, plated dinner, and silent auction, and proceeds support the organization's programs which help women and young entrepreneurs.
Evening of Art + Science 2017
The fourth annual Evening of Art + Science was held on Thursday, April 20 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. Guests enjoyed a reception with scientific-themed cocktails, a strolling dinner, music, and a silent auction. Proceeds will help fund a team of scientists at the University of Michigan who are working on a cancer vaccine.
40th Celebrity Chef Dinner
Community Living Centers, an organization that helps developmentally disabled adults live independently, hosted 15 local celebrity chefs at the Detroit Athletic Club on Friday, April 21 for the 40th annual Celebrity Chefs dinner. Guests enjoyed a five-course meal, entertainment, a silent auction, and raffle.
Jazz Festival Luncheon 2017
A group of jazz enthusiasts, festival sponsors, and civic officials gathered at the Detroit Athletic Club on Wednesday, April 19 for a preview of the 39th annual Detroit Jazz Festival lineup. The four-day festival will take place from Sept. 1-4 and feature performances by the Wayne Shorter Quartet, Hancock, jazz fusionist Miles Mosley, and a jam session led by local saxophonist George Benson.
ACG M&A All-Stars Awards Reception
On April 11, the Detroit Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, which represents more than 400 members from private equity firms, corporations, and lenders that invest in middle-market companies, held its M&A All-Star Awards Reception at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Tigers Opening Day 2017
Thousands of fans flocked to Comerica Park in Detroit to celebrate Opening Day on Friday, April 7. The unofficial local holiday was celebrated with food and beverages at various local establishments and private parties throughout the city, and the Tigers beat the Boston Red Sox 6-5.
New Day at Shinola 2017
More than 80 guests gathered at Shinola in Detroit on Thursday, March 30 to learn about their work with the New Day Foundation, a local organization that helps reduce financial stress for families following a cancer diagnosis. Guests enjoyed food, beverages, and live music by Grace Elizabeth Lee.
JVS Trade Secrets Dinner 2017
JVS, a Detroit human service organization that offers counseling, training, and support services, honored Connie Holzer during their annual Trade Secrets dinner at the Troy Marriott on Wednesday, March 29. Over 500 guests gathered to hear about Holzer's experience following her decision to re-build Tom Holzer Ford, the auto dealership she inherited from her late husband.
