Beaumont Home Health and Hospice, a new organization founded through a joint venture between Southfield’s Beaumont Health and Ohio’s Alternate Solutions Health Network, has started operations this week.
The venture was created in response to a growing need for home health and hospice services in the region.
“Partnering with a specialized provider that has home health and hospice expertise will improve our ability to serve current and future patients,” says Paul LaCasse, executive vice president of post‐acute care and diversified business operations at Beaumont. “Patients are our top priority and we are always evaluating ways to serve them better. This partnership will allow us to deliver compassionate care at a reduced cost.”
A need for home health and hospice services is increasing across the U.S.
“Our current team of exceptional caregivers will continue to serve our patients through this new joint venture,” says Susan Grant, executive vice president and chief nursing officer at Beaumont. “Patients will also benefit from the expertise of a national company.”
While the organization will provide opportunities for home health and hospice workers in the region, medical equipment, home infusion, and personal assistant service employees will remain with Beaumont Health.
Alternate Solutions was founded in 1999 and has 20 partnerships including health systems in Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and Florida.

Beaumont Health was formed in 2014 and has total net revenue of $4.5 billion. It includes eight hospitals and 187 outpatient sites.
Alternate Solutions focuses exclusively on joint venture partnerships with health systems across the country. Its primary offerings are home health, hospice, and post-acute services delivered at home.
