The Urban Land Institute of Michigan is launching BUILD UP Breakfast Clubs, online webcasts designed to empower and inspire local women in real estate.
The Urban Land Institute of Michigan is launching a new program called the BUILD UP Breakfast Clubs, online webcasts designed to empower and inspire women in real estate across the region.
The keynote speaker for the first breakfast is Denise Hamilton, founder and CEO of WatchHerWork.com, a digital learning platform for professional women. It will take place from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Dec. 12.
ULI of Michigan is a chapter of a real estate organization dedicated to responsible land use, and creating thriving, sustainable communities. BUILD UP Breakfast Clubs bring together small groups of women and give them an opportunity to build lasting relationships, engage with women working in their field, and build strong networks. Each regional breakfast club will be captained by a local ULI Women’s Leadership Initiative “champion” who will arrange the location and time for their breakfast club to meet.
“Real estate development is still a heavily male-dominated field and it is important to give women a voice and opportunity to advance in leadership positions in the industry,” says Shannon Morgan, co-chair of ULI’s Women’s Leadership Initiative advisory services panel. “We were inspired to create the BUILD UP Breakfast Clubs by the many talented professional women in ULI who can share their experiences, skillset and vision with others. The clubs are a way to build meaningful relationships with other women in real estate, and to learn and discuss trends and topics in the industry.”
Initially, the program will launch with seven to 10 clubs throughout the state. Each will meet four to six times per year. In advance of each meeting, ULI Michigan will provide virtual content to be viewed and discussed, and annually provide the opportunity for a live stream, interactive keynote event. Content will vary from speakers to recorded lectures and will focus on issues that are important to women in real estate and will be guided by WLI members.
