ManagedWay in Troy, a company offering secure internet access, cloud computing, and colocation services, today announced it has begun providing 100 Gbps fiber optic internet access direct to customer premises.

“As demand continues to spike, ManagedWay has optimized both our internal processes and our network connections to deliver incredibly fast and affordable data transit to metro Detroit clients,” says Robert Sanders, president and CEO.  “Just 10 years ago, one Gbp was considered blazing fast. Now we’re offering 100 times that speed for roughly the same cost.”

One of the company’s early 100 Gbps clients is MiSEN, the Michigan State Education Network that connect teachers and students and is one of the state’s most demanding network infrastructures. By using multiple connection points, ManagedWay’s service to MiSEN is scalable up to 400 Gbps.

“Today’s classrooms are better connected than ever before, and these connections are critical to the overall success of our educational system,” says Sanders.  “ManagedWay is proud to support our dedicated teachers and help them deliver innovative curriculum to Michigan students.”

The company also recently partnered with Arista Network to implement its software platform that helps to deliver the availability, agility, automation, analytics, and security to large-scale date center operators like ManagedWay. It has previously announced partnership with leading transit providers and has established internet points-of-presence in more than 12 U.S. cities, as well as several international locations.

A typical business internet connection may include several different transit routes, so the overall service can only be as fast as the slowest portion of the route, says Sanders. ManagedWay connects fiber optic service directly to the clients’ servers so the user experiences the full benefit.

“Data has become the lifeblood for businesses everywhere. Our substantial network investments have drastically improved the way we manage our data transit and carrier relationships. While many of our competitors are only talking about ultra-high-speed service, we’re actively delivering it across major customer platforms,” says Sanders.
