IoT TechConnect Conference in Troy to Increase Awareness of Opportunities, Threats Posted by Internet
The Internet of Things (IoT) TechConnect conference will provide attendees with a greater understanding of the opportunities and threats posed by IoT.
The Internet of Things (IoT) TechConnect conference, to be held on April 4 at the Troy Marriott, will provide attendees with a greater understanding of the opportunities and threats posed by IoT. As more devices connect to the internet, there are more opportunities for hackers to get into computer systems. The event will focus on IoT companies, experts, and training in Michigan.
Tonya Matthews, president and CEO of the Michigan Science Center, will serve as mistress of ceremonies, and PlanetM, an initiative of Michigan Economic Development Corp., is the title sponsor.
“At the Michigan Science Center, we’re dedicated to becoming the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) hub of Michigan and a premier institution for informal STEM learning,” says Matthews. “This event is a great opportunity to help prepare the local workforce for the technology of the future.”
The event is co-produced by CloudTech1, a managed service provider for cloud strategy in Rochester Hills, and MITechNews.com, a digital resource for entrepreneurial and technology news in Michigan.
Industry leaders will present at the conference during keynote and breakout sessions. The conference will address topics including augmented and virtual reality, industrial IoT, smart homes and smart cities, and connected tech.
“As the owner of a business technology systems and support company, I see the need for more, and better, STEM-related training in order to fulfill the massive demand in our workplace," says Rick Beckers, CEO of CloudTech1.
"The unemployment rate in STEM-related jobs is zero percent, and the demand is rising, and will continue to rise rapidly for many years, because of the IoT economy that is being deployed.” There are close to 100,000 STEM job openings in Michigan.
Tickets for the conference are $20 each and can be purchased here. For more information, call (855) 625-6831.
