South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co., which operates a large R&D campus in York Township near Ann Arbor, revealed the all-new 2019 Veloster Turbo and Veloster N today during the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at Detroit’s Cobo Center. Both cars join the list of drivable vehicles in Forza Motorsport 7 for Xbox and Windows 10.

The vehicles will arrive in U.S. showrooms later this year — the Veloster Turbo will be available in the second quarter and the Veloster N will go on sale later this year.

“In a way, this is a homecoming for Veloster,” says Dean Evans, chief marketing officer for Hyundai Motor America. “Remember that when the original Veloster Turbo was unveiled in 2012 here in Detroit, it simultaneously made its debut in the Forza franchise. It’s thrilling to collaborate with Microsoft and Turn 10 again to put the next-gen Veloster in Forza Motorsport 7. Forza is more than just a game.

“It’s a vibrant and active community of auto enthusiasts that includes dedicated in-game racers, painters, tuners, and photographers. That diverse group is reflective of the customers we want to reach with Veloster, and we’re excited to put them behind the wheel, starting tomorrow.”

The Forza Motorsport 7’s Forzavista feature will allow Forza players to experience the unique design of the 2019 Veloster Turbo and Veloster N as each car is rendered in exacting detail. Additional Veloster-related in-game opportunities such as Rivals events will be made available as part of the ongoing rollout of the 2019 Veloster for Forza Motorsport 7 players.

“I can’t wait to see how the Forza community takes Veloster Turbo and Veloster N and transforms them into extensions of their own personalities,” says Evans. “Platforms like Forza give us access to a sophisticated and knowledgeable audience of car lovers — current and aspiring drivers alike. This is a really fun and exciting day for all of us at Hyundai.”

The Forza videogame franchise, which includes the Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon series of games, is the most-acclaimed and best-selling racing franchise of the current videogame console generation. Forza games are powered by the ForzaTech engine and feature Drivatar artificial intelligence. The Forza franchise is developed by Turn 10 Studios, creators of Forza Motorsport, together with UK-based Playground Games, developers of the Forza Horizon series.

Additionally, the Hyundai Veloster will appear in Marvel Studios film Ant-Man and the Wasp as part of a global marketing initiative to promote the vehicle. Ant-Man and the Wasp is directed by Peyton Reed and stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, with Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Douglas. It hits theaters on July 6.

Hyundai’s lineup of cars, SUVs, and alternative-powered electric and fuel cell vehicles are sold and serviced through more than 830 dealerships nationwide, and the majority sold in the U.S. are built at U.S. manufacturing facilities, including Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama. Hyundai Motor America is headquartered in Fountain Valley, California, and is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company of Korea.
