Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn will take over a 40,000-square-foot space in a building at Palladium Campus in Kanata, Ontario for a research and development center it says will create 300 specialty engineering jobs.

The five-story, 100,000-square-foot building, owned by Cominar, a real estate investment trust in Canada, will be ready for its first occupants in 2020. Leasing opportunities are still available.

“Cominar is proud to contribute to the development of a major technology hub in the Greater Ottawa area,” says Marc Shank, vice president of leasing in Ontario. “We are confident that this project will be attuned to what the market is looking for in terms of sustainability and innovation.”

The new building is at 800 Palladium Drive, is in central Kanata near several major roads and green space. Tenants will have access to training and conference rooms, fitness and yoga facilities, secure indoor bike storage, and outside deck space with a barbecue, volleyball court, agora, and parking lot with more than 330 spaces.
