Albireo Energy of Edison, N.J., a building automation and energy services company owned by Detroit’s Huron Capital, has acquired Taylor Consulting and Contracting, an Avoca, Penn.-based energy management firm.

The deal marks the ninth transaction for Albireo and expands its offering of energy efficiency and automation services to include energy management and procurement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2004, Taylor helps customers reduce their utility costs through its software-enabled procurement services.

Huron Capital formed Albireo in 2014 with the goal of building a leading company in the fast-growing energy efficiency, building automation and energy management markets in the U.S.

“The acquisition of Taylor Consulting and Contracting broadens Albireo’s portfolio of strong energy services solutions,” says Jim Mahoney, a senior partner at Huron Capital.

In addition to the Taylor Consulting and Contracting transaction, Albireo’s previous eight acquisitions include Energy Management Control Corporation, Energy Options, Electronic Controls Systems, Energy Systems Technologies, Green Total Solutions, Sky Technologies, GxP Automation and Advance Power Control.

“This a great strategic and cultural fit that expands our ability to be the go-to partner for efficient energy usage and procurement,” says Phil Rogers, CEO of Albireo Energy. “This combination fulfills a long-held ambition of Albireo to offer our customers best-in-class procurement services.”
