Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants, an establishment that combines a restaurant, winery, Napa-style tasting room, and artisanal retail market, is debuting its newest location in Clinton Township on June 25. The restaurant will be in The Mall at Partridge Creek.
Located at 17440 Hall Road, the 10,531-square-foot restaurant can seat 253 guests, with the main indoor dining space seating 233 and the outdoor patio accommodating an additional 20. Two private barrel rooms will seat 24 guests each, and a sliding wall between the two can create one large private dining room.
“We are excited to expand to a new market and open our first location in Michigan,” says Tim McEnery, CEO and founder of Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants. “We believe that food and wine bring people together and build lasting connections. We are looking forward to introducing our concept to the vibrant Partridge Creek community.”
The menu presents a contemporary American menu infused with international flavors. Each dish on the menu is listed with a bin number, guiding guests to a wine pairing. The restaurant also offers a gluten-free section, a kids’ menu, carryout, and catering.
“We like to use local foods that are in-season,” says Edmund Vogel, executive kitchen manager at Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants. “If we get asparagus that is from Michigan, we will use that for our dishes.”
Pan Roasted Barramundi, one of the restaurant’s popular dishes, is made of blistered green beans, grape tomatoes, ginger rice, and Thai lemongrass sauce. The menu recommends a pairing with Unoaked Chardonnay. Another crowd-pleaser is wild mushroom-crusted chicken, which includes sweet corn and pea risotto, shiitake mushroom, spinach, and lemon butter. It pairs well with Cooper’s Hawk Lux Chardonnay. Other popular menu items include soy ginger steak, Asian pork belly tostadas, and Mexican drunken shrimp.
The restaurant is designed to reflect the architecture of California wine country, showcasing décor influenced by the craft of winemaking. The exterior was designed with light tones and warm textures.
“The Clinton Township location has a spacious yet warm atmosphere using de-saturated wood tones and hints of bold accents in the artwork,” says Stacey Bouwman, senior designer of Aria Group. “There is an even mixture of rustic and refined elements to make the space both comfortable and inviting, adding an authentic Cooper’s Hawk experience to Partridge Creek.”
With the opening of the Clinton Township location, the restaurant will operate 32 restaurants and tasting rooms. An additional three locations are slated to open across the United States in 2018.
Cooper’s Hawk wines have won more than 500 awards from world-renowned competitions, including the Critics Challenge International Wine Competition, where the Cooper’s Hawk Lux Pinot Noir was given a 99-point rating. Cooper’s Hawk Wines recently garnered three prestigious awards from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, including Double Gold for the Lux Meritage. Michigan-appellates Cooper’s Hawk Lux Ice Wine was awarded Best of Class in the Dessert Wine category.
The restaurant also features the country’s largest wine club, with more than 300,000 members.
“We’re always looking to expand our brand and our wine club,” says Ami Vanderhoof, marketing manager at Cooper’s Hawk. “Michigan has been one of the places we’ve looked to expand for a long time.
