Center For Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars Opens Today in Acme

New this year, CAR is offering a keynote speaker series, where leaders will share their insights on how innovative technologies and adaptable business models can help companies succeed in today’s automotive industry.

More than 1,000 attendees are expected at the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) Management Briefing Seminars July 31-Aug. 2 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, near Traverse City.

Now in its 53rd year, the CAR seminar session attracts international attention and provides insight from industry leaders and visionaries about the future of the global automotive industry.

“CAR is privileged to have the sustained support of the automotive industry who join us each year to share their views on significant issues on the mind of every stakeholder in the industry,” says Carla Bailo, president and CEO at CAR. “We are thrilled to be adding new content such as the full day of talent sessions on Thursday, as well as daily keynotes and much more.”

Automakers and suppliers represented at CAR this year include Steve Center, vice president, connected and environmental business development office at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; Andrew Lund, chief engineer, product development at Toyota Motor NA; Mike Anderson, executive director, global transmission and electrification hardware engineering at General Motors; while Matthias Erb, head of holistic user experience at Volkswagen AG will provide automakers’ perspectives.

Suppliers on a variety of panels include Maria Helena Antolin Raybaud, director, vice-chair, and board member of Grupo Antolin; Bo Andersson, president and CEO of Yazaki North and Central America and president, Yazaki Europe; and Maximiliane Straub, CFO and executive vice president, finance, controlling and administration at Robert Bosch.

In addition to the keynote series, the Center for Automotive Research is introducing the MBS Power Lunch. The lunches will feature interactive Q&A on content featuring the winners of the 2018 Altair Enlighten Award discussing the current innovations in lightweighting technology. In addition, PwC’s Dietmar Ostermann and Jeff Zaleski will be joined by auto supplier CEOs to discuss insights on automotive supplier mergers and acquisitions.
