Capture 3D, a technology company specializing in 3-D measurement, inspection, and digitization solutions, will hold its Innovation Conference and Expo Oct. 2-4 at the Marriott Hotel in Troy. The biennial event focuses on how optical noncontact 3-D metrology can be used to quickly solve quality issues, eliminate unforeseen costs, optimize the manufacturing process, and improve product quality.

The event will include GOM Inspect 2018 software training, live technology demonstrations, and guest speakers. Past speakers have included professionals from Rolls-Royce, General Atomics, NASA and the Department of Defense, Honda, General Motors Co., Made in Space, and metrology experts from Capture 3D and GOM GmbH.

Capture 3D is the exclusive North American partner for GOM GmbH, headquartered in Germany.

“This is an opportunity for us to meet other industry partners, (and) to build relationships and see how this technology is being proven and used in the industry,” says a metrology team lead who has attended the conference for the U.S. Army. “Integrating blue light structured scanning into these operations is critical, not only for us to get it right the first time, but for us to catch up to where industry is.”

The event will include a welcome reception, breakout sessions focusing on industry-specific applications for 3-D metrology, a tour of the Capture 3D facility in Farmington Hills, and an offsite dinner networking event.

Early bird registration for the event is now open and lasts until Aug. 20. Tickets are available here for both the training classes and conference, as well as for each separately.

Capture 3D is headquartered in California. GOM has been developing metrology technology since 1990.
