BravoBravo!, a black-tie gala fundraiser for capital improvements at the Detroit Opera House, will return after a two-year hiatus on June 1 with a theatrical theme that celebrates storytelling. The event will include three floors of music, dancing, cuisine, and refreshments from popular bars, restaurants, and musicians.

The official after party is slated to be hosted by DJ Godfather at the 3Fifty Terrace at 350 Madison Street in Detroit.

“This year, we are taking BravoBravo! to the next level with a theme that honors and celebrates what the Detroit Opera House is known for: storytelling,” says Frankie Piccirilli, chief development officer of the Michigan Opera Theatre. “BravoBravo! regulars will still find the party they love but with an extra touch of magic this year.”

The event will take place in the Detroit Opera House, located at 1526 Broadway Street. The venue will be decorated with props and sets from the theater’s productions, including a Hansel and Gretel dessert room, a Die Fledermaus champagne bar, and a Carmen sangria station. Other decorations are inspired by Don GiovanniLa bohème, and other operas.

Guests are encouraged to wear theatrical accessories.

Opera and soul singer Kisma Jordan and electro-pop violin band Nuclassica will headline the event, along with contemporary dancers choreographed by Liz Schmidt. Additional performers include Nicole New and The Woodward Horns, Midwest Dueling Pianos, and Nick Speed and DJ Dez Andres spinning J. Dilla.

The rest of the musical line-up includes:

  • DJ Godfather
  • Omar Aragones
  • Pro DJ Services by Jason Parent with Jesse Walters and Dylan Alexander
  • Robin Horlock
  • The Aston Neighborhood Pleasure Club

The event is scheduled for 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m. General admission tickets are $160, and VIP admission is $250 and includes a 7 p.m. early entry, a SkyDeck reception, and access to the VIP lounge. Boxes are available for $3,500, and stage cabanas are available for $5,000.

Tickets can be purchased here, by calling (313) 237-7464, or in-person at the Detroit Opera House. Tickets for boxes and cabanas are available by calling (313) 237-3268.

Proceeds will go to capital improvements of the theater.
