Southfield’s Beaumont Health today announced plans to develop outpatient care campuses in northeast Macomb County and western Wayne County in 2020. The exact locations haven’t been released, but groundbreakings are slated for next year.

“Our goal is to create one-stop medical destinations with a full array of outpatient services close to where people live, work, and play,” says John Fox, CEO of Beaumont Health. “We know there is a lot of projected growth in Macomb and Wayne counties, which is why we are targeting those areas.”

The campuses will offer Beaumont Health-affiliated primary and specialty care physicians, emergency care, imaging, outpatient surgery, cancer services, physical therapy, and more.

“We’ve learned that many of our patients prefer the easy access to care these campuses will provide,” says Fox. “Surgeries and other procedures performed at these locations will typically have lower out-of-pocket costs for consumers than traditional hospital-based services. This is part of our ongoing effort to provide options that support our population health initiatives.”

Patients will be able to schedule appointments online. They will also have access to an online portal for test results, and the facilities will have streamlined billing to reduce the number of bills patients receive.

“These new campuses will make it easier for our team of experts to share knowledge with each other and collaborate with patients and their families for care that works best for them,” says Malcolm Henoch, senior vice president and associate chief medical officer at Beaumont Health.

NexCore Group, a national health care real estate developer, will build the campuses, handling the financing, development, leasing, property management, and asset management.

“We have enjoyed a strong collaboration with Beaumont Health,” says Jarrod Daddis, managing partner at NexCore Group. “Our goal is to develop unique and innovative facilities with Beaumont where people will experience care and wellness services in appealing and inviting physical spaces.”

There will also be opportunities for independent physicians and groups to open offices at the sites.

“Our goal is to create an experience for patients that connects them to the Beaumont network of care and results in integrated and coordinated care that meets our patients’ needs,” says Fox. “The state-of-the-art campuses will put consumers first and will not look or feel like a traditional health care visit.”

Beaumont Health is Michigan’s largest health care system and a nonprofit organization. It has total net revenue of $4.5 billion and consists of eight hospitals.
