Atlas Oil in Taylor Rolls Out Branded Trucks Honoring Military Personnel, First Responders, and Veterans

Atlas Oil in Taylor, which delivers more than 1.0 billion gallons of fuel annually to customers in 47 states, has started to roll out “We Support You” themed trucks to honor the country’s active military personnel, first responders, and veterans.

The idea stemmed from the company’s work with first responders and military units during emergency fueling deployments. Most recently, Atlas Oil drivers relied on the guidance of Puerto Rican police officers while fueling generators following Hurricane Maria hitting landfall in Puerto Rico last September.

As a result of the storms, traffic lights were nonfunctional and many roads were washed away, making navigation without officers’ guidance nearly impossible.

Additionally, Atlas Oil actively recruits and hires veterans at its terminals located throughout the country. In recent years, Sam Simon, founder and chairman of Atlas Oil, has supported first responders by donating police dogs to Michigan precincts.

While the “We Support You” units are currently operational in southeast Michigan, the company plans to expand its reach by adding “We Support You” trucks to every terminal.

“Atlas Oil is extremely grateful for everything these individuals do to protect the communities where we work and live, and these trucks show our appreciation for the sacrifices they make every day,” says Robert Kenyon, president of Atlas Oil.

Part of Simon Group Holdings in Birmingham, Atlas Oil was founded in 1985 and today offers single source solutions for fuel, transportation, and logistics, and is one of the largest fuel distributors in the country.

The company also operates a real estate division that is engaged in transportation logistics and fueling including bulk, fleet, event, onsite, emergency response, and oil field services.
