AM General in Auburn Hills Debuts Next Generation Light Tactical Vehicle

2017

Auburn Hills’ AM General, a global vehicle solutions provider, Monday debuted its next generation light tactical vehicle, the NXT 360. The new offering highlights changes to the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) platform.

The vehicle is on display through June 15 at the Eurosatory 2018 Defense and Security International Exhibition in Paris.

“The NXT 360 provides added protection, payload capacity, and superior handling performance to perform in any rugged or urban environment,” says Andy Hove, president and CEO of AM General. “Eurosatory is a great venue that will allow our global customers to get a first look at this versatile truck that can enhance their light tactical wheeled fleet in a timely and cost-efficient manner.”

The NXT 360 can be delivered as a complete new vehicle or as an upgraded kit that can be integrated into existing vehicle fleets. It features greater survivability, improved off-road mobility, enhanced stopping capability, higher payload capability, and increased power.

The company is also featuring the HMMWV Hawkeye 105MM Weapon System at the show.

AM General moved into a new Technology and Engineering Center in Auburn Hills in 2017. Its headquarters are in Indiana.
