Tapper’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry will open a new store at the Somerset Collection in Troy at 10 a.m. on Oct. 21. Designed by JGA of Southfield and built by Detroit-based Sachse Construction, the new location will feature a collection of fashion and fine jewelry, loose diamonds, engagement rings, and luxury timepieces including Michigan’s first Rolex shop operated by Tappers.

Over our 40-year history, trends and styles have changed, but one thing has remained the same – our tradition of treating every visitor like family. With this new location, we’ll be able to provide a more personalized and engaging shopping experience than ever before.”
The 5,600-square-foot retail space is located at Somerset North on the second level, near the center court escalator. Tapper’s centerpiece is a U-shaped bridal bar displaying a selection of engagement rings including the Tapper’s Diamond, A. Jaffe, Carizza, Henri Daussi, Martin Flyer, and more.
The store will also feature the Tapper’s Tap Room, a refreshment bar and gathering space serving draft beer from Michigan-owned breweries, draft root beer, soft drinks, and water. A live plant wall by West Bloomfield-based Planterra accents the space.
The first 40 guests to enter Tapper’s will receive a silver Mantraband bracelet stamped with “Choose Joy,” at no cost. The company will also host a wedding weekend event Nov. 10-12 at the Somerset Collection Store, featuring a wider collection of merchandise. Customers can save 20 percent on one ring, 25 percent on two rings, and 30 percent on three rings.
Through Nov. 30, Tapper’s is also collecting new and gently used coats, hats, gloves, and blankets at all three Tapper’s locations (Orchard Mall in West Bloomfield and Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi), as well as Morgan Stanley, United Shore offices, and West Bloomfield Public Schools.
Tapper’s was awarded “Best Place to Buy an Engagement Ring,” by Hour Detroit Magazine from 2012-2017.
