Construction has begun on Stellar Hospitality’s newest hotel, a TRU by Hilton, at Van Dyke Avenue and Metro Parkway in Sterling Heights. The 98-room lodge is scheduled to open this fall, and is targeted to business and leisure travelers.
TRU by Hilton’s design will include an open lobby with zones for lounging, working, eating, and playing, as well as mobile check-in and digital key access, a business center, multi-use meeting spaces, a 24-hour fitness room, a snack market in the lobby, and other amenities.
“Expanding our portfolio of first-class hotels into this region is an incredible opportunity to join the many expanding industries around us, including the $1 billion retooling of the Fiat Chrysler plant in the area” says Malik Abdulnoor, CEO of Stellar Hospitality. “Becoming neighbors with many of the automotive manufactures and industries in this thriving corridor strengthens our ability to provide guests with an exceptional experience.”
Once TRU is operational, Sterling Hospitality will begin construction on a second sister hotel, though a decision about the specific flag within the Hilton family hasn’t been made. The second facility is slated to offer 100 rooms and open in 2018.
