Michigan Governor Rick Snyder today announced the 2017 North American International Cyber Summit will be held on Oct. 30 at Detroit’s Cobo Center. In its sixth year, the cyber summit brings together experts from across the globe to address a variety of cybersecurity issues impacting several industries, including automotive, business, education, IT, economic development, law enforcement, and personal use.
A hub for national leaders in cybersecurity, Michigan’s annual summit serves as a platform for regional, national, and international thought leadership.
“This event has grown into one of the preeminent cybersecurity forums in the world,” says David Behen, director of the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget and the state’s CIO. “There is no better opportunity to learn from and network with the leaders in the cyber world, it is truly a must-attend event.”
The event is open to the public and will feature information for business professionals, individuals, educators, law enforcement, and government officials. Leaders from the public and private sectors will speak on cybersecurity’s emerging trends, technology, and best practices.
The final round of the Governor’s High School Cyber Challenge will also take place during the summit, testing Michigan high school students’ skills in computer science, IT, and cybersecurity in a two-round statewide competition.
