Singlethread, a Detroit-based provider of web-based software to improve communication in automobile dealerships, has announced new additions to its product line including electronic vehicle inspections, team chat, and a new design. The enhancements are designed to generate more efficient internal and external communication and team development.

“Nationwide, we’ve seen dealerships make significant upgrades to their Wi-Fi, purchase tablets, and pay thousands of dollars every month for software, with no real return on investment,” says Patrick Southward, co-founder of Singlethread. “ If the customer doesn’t receive inspection results until after the vehicle is serviced or not at all, the dealership is wasting money. Our product solves this problem by delivering the inspection reports to mobile devices immediately, and at a much more cost-effective price than anything else on the market.”

Singlethread’s updates provide the tools for technicians to complete vehicle inspections and advisors to deliver them more quickly and accurately with the entire department receiving notifications when it’s their turn to complete a task.

The Team Chat feature offers employees the opportunity to exchange messages between departments, allowing for a quicker overall process.

“For larger stores (dealerships), the amount of time spent just walking between the body shop, parts, the service bay, and the advisor desk was measured in hours per day,” says William Mapes, co-founder of Singlethread. “Team Chat not only supports the inspection process, but helps to resolve any number of internal communication breakdowns. Across the entire platform — text, inspections, chat, and mobile pay — we’re happy to report that we’re helping dealers save a significant amount of time every day.”

The program is compatible with any tablet or desktop device with no necessary upgrades to existing devices or computers.
