Detroit-based Shinola, known for creating high-end watches, bicycles, leather goods, and journals, has partnered with General Electric to offer a new collection of wall clocks and power cords.

The collaboration is the first development partnership of its kind for the Shinola brand, and the full range of products will be available in December at all Shinola retail stores across the U.S.

Executives at Shinola say the products “will epitomize the best in American design and craftsmanship,” according to a press release. GE will contribute expertise across design, sourcing, engineering, safety, and quality certification.

Both products will produced in the United States with local and imported parts. Executives add that wall clocks are a “natural progression” from their globally sold lines of watches, and will utilize GE’s history of wall clock production to inform the design and manufacturing process.

The power supply products are built at Rockford-based Byrne Electrical Specialists, and the clocks will be built by trained artisans at Shinola’s headquarters in Detroit.
