Commercial real estate firm Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions today listed 64 Watson, a new luxury condominium development consisting of five private residences in Detroit’s Brush Park neighborhood. Offering five different floor plans, including one full floor penthouse, the development is part of a residential and commercial resurgence in the historic district, located across Woodward Avenue from Little Caesars Arena.

“It’s a boutique sort of development that you’d typically see in neighborhoods in Chicago or Brooklyn, and we’ve yet to really see that in Detroit,” says James Tumey, vice president of Friedman Urban and sales agent for 64 Watson. “It’s a brand-new building that they’re basically going to make look 100 years old from the outside, but on the inside, every unit is going to be smart homes that the owners can control with their phones.”

The brick and stone building includes two gardens, and each residence will offer spacious interiors, dark natural walnut flooring, private outdoor spaces, oversized high efficiency euro tilt and turn windows, polished quartz countertops, waterfall kitchen islands, and a resident garage. Wi-Fi from Detroit-based Rocket Fiber will allow homeowners to control lighting, thermostats, alarms, and more using their smartphones.

“Brush Park is gorgeous and has some of the most beautiful architecture in the city, and we’re basically trying to preserve the history and giving people the best of both worlds: the charm of the historic neighborhood on the outside, but brand new product on the inside,” says Tumey.

64 Watson prices range from $311,710 for the two garden units, $683,400 for the two townhomes, and $882,500 for the penthouse.  The development team includes Devon Renewal for the building’s restoration, Wolf VR for renderings, while Birmingham-based firm McIntosh Poris Associates served as the architect.
