The Lincoln Motor Co. today debuted the Lincoln Nautilus, a mid-size luxury SUV with a turbocharged engine and a suite of advanced driver-assist technologies. The successor to the Lincoln MKX, Nautilus joins the 2019 MKC and updated Navigator in the company’s latest lineup offerings.

“With the introduction of Nautilus, Lincoln has a strong, distinctive portfolio with a common and recognizable identity,” says Kumar Galhotra, president of Lincoln. “We’re excited to add Nautilus to our Lincoln family of luxury SUVs, along with a new name that better reflects the ideas and attitudes of our clients.”

Nautilus features a push-button gear shift and a concealed wireless charging pad compatible with smartphones. It also offers standard SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Driver-assistance technologies include a lane-centering feature, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, and evasive steer assist, which analyzes the gaps between slower-moving and stationary vehicles nearby.

Additional features include pre-collision assist, pedestrian detection, blind spot information systems, active park assist, lane-keeping aid and auto-hold, and more.

The Lincoln Nautilus offers a signature grille and new wheel selection for further customization. The cabin’s design combines seating for five with added luggage room and soft lighting, while new acoustic side glass windows serve to reduce wind noise for rear passengers. Ultra Comfort seats are also available and can be adjusted up to 22 ways, including a lumbar massage to reduce fatigue.

The vehicle will come with a 2.7 liter engine that delivers 335 horsepower and 380 pounds per foot of torque.

The 2019 Nautilus will be available at dealerships next summer. Pricing will be announced at a later date. The vehicle is expected to be on display at the 2018 North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit (Jan. 20-28).
