After extensive trials, Motor1.com, a Detroit-based global source of online car reviews, news, and information today announced it has expanded its service to include an online shopping platform for new car purchases, as well as provide access to nearly four million pre-owned vehicles in the United States.

“Today we are launching a well-researched and highly considered extension to our operation, which we hope will set standards in car shopping,” says John Neff,Motor1.com’s editor in chief. “Not only do we have one of the largest stocks of pre-owned cars and the ability to configure new cars, but we believe our user experience, that incorporates a fully optimized mobile solution, will extend our market leaderships from editorial reporting to car buying.”

As a multi-territory website currently operating in six markets, Neff adds that the launch of the U.S. car shopping platform is a precursor to rolling out the first genuinely international car shopping platform, which will provide users a single and consistent way to research and purchase new and used vehicles wherever they live.

Neff says this platform is a natural fit for Motor1.com because it “promises to connect expert automotive advice with the tools to make an informed car purchase from one of the largest inventories available.” The user experience also integrates new car configuration with pre-owned listings and car review information available on the same, user-friendly interface. Filtering tools also enable users to access Motor1.com’s large inventory with greater accuracy, and precisely target their requirements.

As a global automotive media outlet, Motor1.com combines television, digital content, live events, e-commerce, gaming, and social networking to engage 4.3 billion motorsport and auto fans in 17 different languages.

IN RELATED NEWS, DealerSocket, an automotive retail integrated technology platform, today announced the launch of its Precise Price digital retailing tool at the 2017 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Expo in New Orleans.

Precise Price, which is being tested in the Detroit area, is a digital retailing tool that allows customers to calculate the true price of a vehicle and begin structuring the terms of purchase through an integrated, web-based platform.

According to a 2016 Dealership Action Report, distrust toward salespeople is the top reason customers dislike the car-buying process. DealerSocket is hoping its new tool can help consumers build more confidence in the purchasing process.
