Maison Birmingham, a new full-service, luxury design-build firm specializing in kitchens and bathrooms, says it will open for business on March 23. Architect Lauren Tolles created Maison Birmingham to serve as a collaborative, gallery-like workspace for clients, designers, builders, and architects.

The 2,500-square-foot showroom offers a range of finished samples including cabinetry, tile, flooring, paint, and stone samples. It also provides most elements of a typical design center to streamline the design-build process. The showroom is the only one in the country to sell the luxury Danish cabinetry line Boform, while all other cabinetry is sourced from the United States or Canadian manufacturers.

“I’ve always been interested in residential design, but it’s the finishes and technical aspects of interior architecture that really speak to me,” says Tolles. “At Maison Birmingham, we tend to layer different materials to balance variation and consistency and create interest. We also are passionate about finding innovative ways for clients to utilize (their) space most efficiently and incorporate enough free or open areas to allow the room to breathe.”

Maison Birmingham’s services include interior architecture, custom cabinetry, interior design, construction, and project management. Projects range from a simple cosmetic restoration to major construction and changing floor plans. Tolles and her team work with numerous local designers and builders, and have more than 25 projects underway or completed.
