Inaugural Verge Trade Show to Connect Local Fashion Designers, Buyers

Detroit Garment Group (DGG) and the Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) today announced Verge, a collaborative and inclusive fashion trade show slated for Aug. 7-8 at the Garden Theater in Detroit’s Midtown district. The event will showcase the latest apparel and accessories from contemporary luxury to streetwear for men, women, and children.

In addition, exhibitors at Verge can learn how to perfect product pitches in the pitch lounge, and participate in a pitch competition for prizes. The exhibitor cost for both days is $300, and designers can opt to share booth space. A wine reception for both buyers and exhibitors will close the event.

“We are excited to partner with the MEDC to aid in both the exposure and growth of Michigan’s fashion community,” says Lindsey Alexander, executive director of DGG. “While a trade show is a great place to meet potential buyers and get product orders, it’s not always financially feasible to attend fashion trade shows in other states. With Verge, we are bringing that experience to local designers to showcase their products and make those critical connections with buyers.”

Designers and exhibitors will also be able to view a series of webinars created by PMBC. The webinars are designed to connect local entrepreneurs with buyers and help them navigate the complexities of building businesses. The next webinar, in partnership with DGG, will focus on trade shows. Guests can watch the virtual panel from 12-1 p.m. on July 19.

Registration information can be found here. Verge is closed to the public.
