Iconic Real Estate today announced it has opened its headquarters in the historic Ford Building in downtown Detroit, which was recently acquired by The Sterling Group. Iconic Real Estate specializes in retail, office, multi-family, and development opportunities for clients in the metro Detroit area.

The firm also focuses on working with national, regional, and local tenants. For Beacon Park, a triangular public space at Cass and Grand River avenues that opens tomorrow, co-founder Kees Janeway worked with DTE Energy as an advisor to secure the restaurant, Lumen Detroit. The eatery, set to open next spring, will be owned and operated by restauranteurs by Norman, Bonnie, Scott, and Susanne LePage.

For Campus Martius Park, Janeway worked with the owners of Parc in negotiating the space for the new restaurant, as well as other food and beverage options within the public square.

Iconic Real Estate has more than 40 years of collective experience both nationally and in the Detroit marketplace. Services include leasing, acquisition, tenant representation, landlord representation, disposition, and consulting.

Iconic Real Estate was founded by Janeway and Jacob Sworski. Janeway has more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate, tenant representation, and development. Sworski brings almost 15 years of real estate experience to the firm. Most recently, he worked with a boutique firm in southeast Michigan.

“The Detroit market and prospects are constantly changing, and the Iconic team has the knowledge and relationships to create opportunities, often before a property or development is ever listed,” says Janeway.

The firm is currently looking to hire up to two dozen brokers for the new downtown office within the next few months.
