Auburn Hills-based Guardian Glass, an international manufacturer of float, value-added coated, and fabricated glass products, today announced their new jumbo coater will be installed at its Carleton manufacturing complex.

“Architects are increasingly designing projects with larger glass sizes to deliver desired aesthetics with more expansive views and higher daylight penetration,” says Rick Zoulek, vice president of Guardian Glass. “Guardian’s new jumbo coater will combine the larger size glass that architects demand with the world-class energy savings of the Guardian SunGuard portfolio of high performance, low-E coatings.”

The new coater will enable Guardian Glass to deliver jumbo-sized glass to North American customers with less lead time. It will also supply larger sheets of coated glass for fabrication into finished insulating glass units for glass facades and windows.

The new jumbo coater is located adjacent to Guardian Glass’ float glass plant and across from their Science and Technology Center to increase product and service offerings, decreasing inventory and waste.
