Ferndale-based Gage Products, a manufacturing, solvent remanufacturing, and toll blending systems company, has signed a joint-venture agreement with China-based Sichuan Sikeyonghe Technologies Co. (SKYH) to build a new facility that provides automotive solvents and solvent recycling throughout Asia.
“Gage has been a pioneer in the development of sustainable, closed-loop manufacturing processes,” says Dan Finkiewicz, chairman and president of Gage. “Our partnership with SKYH has tremendous growth potential and provides us with an opportunity to introduce industry-leading solvent technology to the world’s largest automotive market.
The joint-venture will have up to 30 employees and will be located in Chongqing (central China). The company plans to expand to further locations to support in the Middle Kingdom to meet the demand for solvent-recycling services.
“Gage was carefully chosen as a partner because of its reverence for the environment and its concern for the health and well-being of workers in the automotive industry,” says Xiaodong Lu, chairman of SKYH. “With such parallel philosophies, our two companies are prepared for significant success and profitability.”
An $8 million to $10 million investment will be shared by the venture partners. The plant is expected to start production by the end of 2018.
