A 30-year veteran of the Detroit real estate industry, Moses Shepherd has announced the launch of ACE Petroleum in Detroit.

The company will offer fueling solutions and transport services for government agencies and commercial end users, and is a certified Minority Business Enterprise through the Michigan and Minority Supplier Development Councils.

“I’m a son of Detroit, and have worked more than 30 years to help revitalize the city in a variety of ways,” says Shepherd. “”My vision is to become a respected minority supplier to Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States. And while I’m the only certified minority business enterprise fuel supplier in Michigan, and among only a few in the United States, ACE Petroleum will only grow through exceptional service and by anticipating the needs of our clients.”

A Detroit native, Shepherd attended Western International High School and the Detroit College of Business. He began his career in 1987 as a district manager at an area fuel distribution company, where Shepherd had daily operational oversight over eight stores, managing nearly 100 employees.

Prior to launching ACE Petroleum, Shepherd founded his real estate company Ace Investment Group in 2003, which acquires properties exclusively in Detroit. Since then, the company has bought hundreds of duplexes, single and multi-family homes, and apartment building units. He says Investment Group renovates, holds, and leases its own properties.

Today, Ace Investment Group has one of the largest African American-owned apartment portfolios in Detroit, and with its management company, Jackson ACE, it is believed to be the largest housing provider for local non-profit agencies in the city.
