Following months of logistical operations, Delta Airlines, which operates a hub at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, today announced the beginning of their joint cooperation agreement (JCA) with Aeromexico. The agreement enables both airlines to operate transborder flights between the United States and Mexico, making additional service and more convenient schedules available to travelers in both countries.
The carriers first announced the partnership in Dec. 2016, and today announced they have completed the regulatory steps required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Mexico’s Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE). Beginning today, Delta and Aeromexico will work together to enhance the customer experience on the ground and in the air by investing in airport facilities, boarding gates, and lounges, and both companies will be able to implement joint sales and marketing initiatives in both countries.

Delta will provide service in the U.S. through its connecting hubs in Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, and Aeromexico will offer greater access to Mexico through its hubs in Mexico City and Guadalajara.
